Waterproofing is a method in which the buildings or even a separate wall should not be affected by water. In the case of infecting the wall, it also leads to many infectious diseases and many health problems. It may penetrate into the roof, structural membranes, foundation surfaces. So the water-resistant should be built in the surfaces which may not lead to any diseases which are infectious and any other health problems. This article is to share the types of waterproofing .

Methods

The commonly used waterproofing materials are namely bituminous material, the liquid membrane which is made of polyurethane, cementations material, liquid waterproofing material, etc… waterproofing structure should be required in structure basement, bathrooms, walls, kitchen, decks, balconies, roofs or it is used to say as a terrace, water tanks, pools and as well as green roofs, etc…

Cementitious method

This method of waterproofing is much easier in the construction part, the materials which are used for the cementitious method of waterproofing is available easily from the Mansory products suppliers, next advantage of this method is they are very much easier to mix in a correct proportion and as well as it is also easy to apply in the construction. This method is mostly used in the wet areas which is in internal such as the toilet. This method is said to be the semi-flexible or rigid type of a waterproofing method. As it is used in the internal areas it cannot be exposed to the sunlight and as well as weathering. This cementation process of waterproofing does not undergo expansion and as well as the contract process. The application for this method is bridges, subway and railway systems, parking structure and lots, tunnels, sewage treatment plans and water treatment plans, etc…

Liquid membrane waterproofing

Liquid membrane is a method of thin coating that consists of a primer and two coats with the help of a roller, spray, and trowel. This method is more flexible when compared to the cementitious method. The liquid preparation will be in rubbery form which retains its elasticity of 280 percent. The durability of this method depends on the usage of polymer. The liquid membrane is applied in the help of spray which gets composed of asphalt polymer which is said to be in modified space.

Bituminous waterproofing method

The bituminous method is the type of coating used in the method of waterproofing, the flexibility of the protective coat is based on the polymerization and formulation grade. This method is also known as asphalt coating. The common applications are protective coating is excellent, waterproofing agent is excellent especially on the concrete foundations, etc…  this method of coating is also will not be exposed to the sunlight, becomes much brittle, fragile such materials like polymers which are based on the acrylic or polyurethane. This flexibility depends on the content of solid which is used in the mixture with an addition of bitumen.

Polyurethane method

This waterproofing method is a polyurethane of the liquid membrane. This methods of waterproofing is known for the usage of flat areas and it let to expose with the process of weathering. But a little bit of disadvantage is, this is an expensive method. This is of highly flexible, sensitivity in the presence of moisture content, etc… the person has to be very careful in evaluating the content of moisture like concrete slab otherwise the de-bonding may occur.
